RFID Overview
In this session, the concepts around and the terminology used in RFID implementations are introduced. Various hardware and software components are explored and how these various elements form an integrated RFID solution is demonstrated. First part of RFID Overview covers History of RFID, Uses and Benefits of RFID with real world examples such as Delta Airlines, Department of Defense, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and others. Discussions on Standardization, Regulations and Mandates, Overview of the Hardware (tags, readers, antennas and networks), and Overview of the Data Management Software.


Business Case and Processes
The Business Case and Processes module focuses specifically on how to evaluate and develop a business case for RFID in any organization.  Time is spent in creating metrics and business value propositions for implementing RFID throughout the organization and determining "where to" and "where not to" deploy RFID technology.


Lessons Learned from the Expert
In this module real world RFID implementations are presented, demonstrated and discussed by RFID Implementation experts.  Challenges facing a RFID implementation and solutions to those challenges are detailed through this "lessons learned" segment. This section covers what the experts know from A to Z.


RFID Demonstration/Tour of Facilities/Hands-on
The tour is an in-depth look at real-world, practical uses of RFID technology. The applications seen go far beyond "standard" portals and conveyors, they are serious applications designed to solve tangible problems throughout supply chain activities. The RFID Demonstration showcases the creative use of technology in various environments including different moving, stationary, temperature and handling environments; as well as various testing strategies to devise the best solution for specific applications.  Students will have practical hands-on exercises with various product solutions from different vendors including the setting up and testing of RFID readers, antennas, printers and tags.
