Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one of the most rapidly
growing segments of today’s Automatic Identification and Data Capture
(AIDC) industry. The use of RFID in tracking and access applications
first appeared during the 1980s. The technology enables tracking of
moving / non moving objects, which is not possible using barcodes.
RFID facilitates tran
smission and processing of data according
to specific needs of an application. RFID systems do not require
physical contact with the object to read the data.
